My original firewall pad was in shreds. I sprung for this upgraded pad in a hope that it would do a better job of insulation and noise suppression. The 67 inside AC heater box does have a rubber seal where it attaches to the firewall, but is the seal to be retained and the secondary seal pad added? Or is it to be added to the AC heater box seal. I don't know and the 67 AIM is mute. It does show the seal on p. 194 (3889483), but I don't know if it is in addition to the rubber heater box seal.

I forgot to mention the plastic pad retainers. An expensive pad like this should include the decent rubber retainers and not the inexpensive plastic ones.
